Match report Missed opportunity for "2 Tiger" Squadron to take their second win, after their best bowling and fielding display to date. Pick of the bowlers, Sam Hardy (4-28, also took the catch of the match with a one handed, close-to-the-ground, full length diving effort in the gully. There were also 2 wickets a piece for Si-Lo, the Skipper and, first wickets of the season for Dazza.

Delightful tea was consumed with much optimism and serious talk of getting one's head down when batting.

Unfortunately, "Getting your head down" was translated into "Go to sleep and forget everything that we said at tea" by all - with the exception of a very good 62 from Gunn the Elder, and a bit of staying power and good shots from Ash (17) and Gus (16 n.o.). A stand of 32 between Dave Gunn and Gus for the 7th wicket made Takeley favourites to win. But when Dave Gunn went with the score at 138-7, it became a case of what came first - 160 runs or all 10 of our wickets. Falling 7 runs short was hard to take, but a good openning spell of 4-15 of 10 overs from S.Leamy showed the value of bowling straight and on a good length...and getting the ball swing away regularly...and then cutting a few back. Well bowled, sir!
