Match report Two’s Pick Up Their Second Win of the Season

After four defeats on the bounce, the Two’s bounced back with a strong win over fellow strugglers Nazeing. Having lost the toss and been put in to bat, Ozzy and JC strode out on a sunny but blustery afternoon.

A flying start saw Takeley race to a 50-run opening stand before JC got carried away, missing a straight one with an ugly slog for 27. Sesh fell shortly after, and when Ozzy was caught and bowled soon after passing his 50, a promising platform suddenly looked shaky.

Enter Pulkit and Matt. Their superb 136-run partnership for the fourth wicket put Takeley in command. Matt departed after another well-made 50, but Pulkit carried on to record his first century for the club — a fantastic knock! Takeley closed on an imposing 267-6.

After tea, Harrison took the new ball and struck early, with Pulkit capping his day by taking a sharp catch at gully. Nazeing batted aggressively, intent on finding the boundary at every opportunity — but this approach created chances. The skipper’s tidy spell of 2-28 helped keep control, though Nazeing’s No. 3 batted well, despite being dropped on around 30.

With more chances going begging — including simple ones put down by Vishal and Matt Furrer — it was time for Golden Arm OzDog. As ever, he made an immediate impact, striking in his first over and forcing further mistakes. Eventually, Nazeing’s No. 3 holed out, running out of partners. JC wrapped things up, clean bowling the No. 10, who rather helpfully chose to walk over to point and leave a particularly vicious delivery, only to be bowled middle and leg.

A valuable 20 points secured — and a curry for the skipper!
