Match report With the irreplaceable Buckets unavailable due to Wedding commitments (hope ozdog’s palm has been graced with gold), it was left to Pinny to take on the mantle of skippering the 1’s at the always cold Matching Green. Although it was soon noted that the 14 degree temperature was exactly double that of last year’s visit!!

After a morning of hearing that Nathan had to leave at 7, hang on no 6, wait no 5, it was decided to call on the services of Trigger and the Tigers duly arrived with a full compliment of players. With a special mention of thanks to Malc for scoring and Bridget for making the rest of us look warm under her 24 blankets !!!

Pinny duly called ‘tails never fails’ however on this occasion it did.. and we were inserted on a very green un-cut strip (it was then Daws informed me that the groundsman had been away since Wednesday), NOTE TO CHAIRMAN we had to call an EGM when we found out Rob was going to a wedding in a couple of weeks.

Conno and Observer favourite Tom opened up against quite possibly the best two opening bowlers in the whole league and far too good for Div 2 that is for sure, Tom was caught at gully by an absolute blinder, whilst Conno carried on doing exactly what was hoped by seeing off as many overs as he could, Adrian looked to be coping admirably before succumbing to Brown. We then seemed to get tied down too much through the middle overs, and 66 off 31 overs was testament to that, altho some strong hitting from Pinny and able support form Neville Brookes the tigers managed to reach 142-5.

Tea was duly taken, which was magnificent... Mrs Dawson, thank you !! The homemade strawberry sponge cake was a particular Tigers favourite, and Ozzy, now we know that University Education was not a waste, your cake cutting is Phenomenal.

Liam and Trev opened up and the first 14 overs were fantastic, deserved a lot more than the 1 wicket each they got... Trev’s injury then returned and Observer favourite obviously didn’t want a spot in the limelight this week as the game quickly turned against the Tigers, and even a spell from Webbo couldn’t turn the tide as Matching reached their target fairly easily.

Still, the tigers left with their spirits still high, safe in the knowledge that Liz was doing the teas on Sunday, brilliant!! Word on the street, is that even a son’s 11th birthday party was missed just to sample some of the 12 pizzas on offer...thanks Liz !!
